Tusheti is one of the most beautiful mountainous regions of Georgia. Located just beyond the main ridge of the Caucasus, its administrative center is the village of Omalo. This is exactely where the tour begins. Within the tour, you’ll visit Keselo Fortress, built on the rocky hillside in the 18th century. Today, only three rectangular towers and fragments of the fence remain. During the tour, you will also visit the villages of Dartlo and Kvavlo. Dartlo, located at 2,000 meters above sea level, is one of the most well-preserved villages in the Pirikita Valley; while, Kvavlo is about 8 km away from Omalo.
