Explore one of the most beautiful and distinguished mountainous regions of Georgia. Discover the wildlife of the Pankisi Gorge, enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the Caucasus Mountains and visit the almost abandoned villages of Khevsureti.
The tour starts from the Camp Pankisi and takes you to Mount Tbatani, which used to be the summer resort of Tush people. On your way, you will visit Batsara State Nature Reserve, which is part of Batsara-Babaneuri Protected Areas. The remains of tertiary relict dendroflora distinguish the reserve. Two kilometers of Tbatana, there's a Lake Sakisto. Afterward, you'll continue your way towards the Sakhorne Pass and visit Rkina (Iron) Mountain. From the highest point of the pass (2,800 meters above sea level) is a magnificent view of Tusheti and the start of the river Alazani. In Tusheti, you will hike through Pirikita, Tsovatusheti, and Gometsri gorges, where you will visit several historic villages, including the oldest settlement, Koklata, and the highest settlement in Europe - Bochorna. After the Pirikita Gorge, you will continue your way to Khevsureti; through the Atsunti Pass, you'll hike to the Khonistskali Gorge. From here, you'll visit the historic villages of Mutso and Shatili. This is where the tour ends.
